The Truecoat method

The coat is won before the lid comes off.

Ninety percent of a finish that lasts is groundwork nobody photographs. Here is exactly what our crew does to your walls before the first drop of color, and why we guarantee the result in writing.

01

Fill & sand Day one

Nail holes, dents and fastener pops filled, then sanded flush, a wall has to feel smooth before it can look smooth.

02

Caulk every seam

Gaps at trim, corners and baseboards sealed so your lines read as one clean, continuous edge instead of a shadow.

03

Prime the bare & stained

Patches, raw drywall and water marks primed so the color sits even, no flashing, no ghosts bleeding through.

04

Degloss & clean

Kitchens and baths washed and dulled so new paint grips for years instead of peeling in months.

05

Mask & protect Every day

Floors, counters and furniture covered before any color goes up, and the site left tidy every single evening.

"Another company pushed a full siding replacement. Truecoat power-washed, spot-primed and repainted instead, for a fraction of the cost. Honest people."

Homeowner guides

Know your finish before you commit.

Short, honest answers to the questions every homeowner asks, no jargon, no upsell.

Which sheen goes where?

Flat and matte hide surface flaws and suit ceilings and low-traffic walls. Eggshell and satin wipe clean, which makes them the workhorses for hallways, kitchens and kids' rooms. Semi-gloss handles trim, doors and cabinets, and takes scrubbing without losing its finish.

A simple rule: the shinier the paint, the tougher it is, and the more it highlights imperfections underneath. That is why prep matters more as sheen goes up.

Why does exterior paint fail early?

Paint rarely fails because of the paint. It fails because moisture was trapped underneath, because chalky old coats were never washed off, or because bare wood was left unprimed. Sun does the rest, south- and west-facing walls always weather first.

The fix is boring and unbeatable: wash, scrape, sand, spot-prime, then paint in the right weather window. Skipping any one of those steps is how a fresh coat peels within a couple of seasons.

What actually happens during prep?

Good prep is most of the job: furniture covered, floors masked, nail holes filled, cracks caulked, glossy spots sanded so the new coat can grip, and stains sealed so they cannot bleed through.

When a wall is prepped properly, the paint levels out evenly and edges stay crisp for years. When it is not, no premium paint can save it. If a quote seems too fast or too cheap, prep is usually what got cut.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Do you charge for estimates?+
No. Written estimates for interior, exterior, cabinet and commercial projects are always free, we visit, measure, talk through colors and finishes, and email you a clear, itemized quote with no obligation.
How soon can you start?+
Most estimates go out within a day, and typical projects are scheduled within one to two weeks. For urgent repaints, before a move, a sale or an event, just tell us the date and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What does "upfront flat pricing" mean?+
Before any work begins, we give you one clear, flat price to approve, prep, materials and labor included. No hourly meter, no surprise add-ons at the end. You always decide before we start.
How long will my project take?+
A typical bedroom is done in a day; a main floor takes two to three; a full exterior usually runs three to five depending on prep and weather. You get a schedule with your quote, and we actually keep it.
What paint brands do you use?+
Premium products only, Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore and PPG, matched to each surface for durability and washability. We're happy to work with a specific line or sheen if you already have a preference.
Is the paint safe for kids and pets?+
Yes, we use low- and zero-VOC paints as standard, ventilate as we work, and most rooms are safe to sleep in the same night. Tell us about little ones or pets and we'll plan the order of rooms around them.
Is the Care Plan worth it?+
For most homes, yes: an annual inspection, free scuff and touch-up visits, priority scheduling, and 15% off future projects typically pay for the membership the first time you use it, and keep every finish looking new.
